From the historic milestones of Hindusthan Record—India's first indigenous recording studio, established in Calcutta in 1932—to the modern stewardship of the arts, our roots are deeply intertwined with the living evolution of India's creative identity.
Chandi Charan Saha brought recording equipment from Germany and opened his studio not as a commercial venture, but as an act of cultural devotion. Guided by Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore himself, he gave voice to the music of a civilisation. That founding spirit now animates every initiative of this Foundation.
