Our Heritage

The Chandi Charan Saha Foundation carries forward the enduring vision of its namesakeβ€”a remarkable pioneer who understood, long before his time, that a nation's truest wealth is not measured in commerce, but in the preservation of its creative and intellectual soul.

From the historic milestones of Hindusthan Recordβ€”India's first indigenous recording studio, established in Calcutta in 1932β€”to the modern stewardship of the arts, our roots are deeply intertwined with the living evolution of India's creative identity.

Chandi Charan Saha brought recording equipment from Germany and opened his studio not as a commercial venture, but as an act of cultural devotion. Guided by Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore himself, he gave voice to the music of a civilisation. That founding spirit now animates every initiative of this Foundation.

Our Vision

Premier custodian of India's cultural and intellectual heritage

To be the foremost custodian of India's cultural and intellectual heritage β€” fostering a society where the arts, literature, and history are preserved not as museum artefacts, but as living traditions that inspire future generations to innovate and excel.

Our Mission

A bridge between a glorious past and a vibrant future

We are dedicated to the preservation of Indian classical music, the documentation of Bengali theatrical history, and the promotion of spiritual and literary scholarship. Through our CSR initiatives, we empower artists, scholars, and the community to thrive in an ever-changing world.
